Our Programs
After-School and Summertime Enrichment and Remediation Programs:
The Sunset Learning Center is a secular supplemental school housed at Covenant Presbyterian Church, at Funston & Taraval. In this beautiful old building, we have renovated three classrooms, a multipurpose room, and a gym. Our partnership with the church enables us to offer specialized smallgroup instruction at affordable prices.
Parking is always easy at our place, and we're just a short walk from West Portal station. During the school year, academic tutorials meet twice a week; all other classes meet once a week. More than 40 students are now attending our after-school and weekend classes.
Our full-day summer school has grown from 18 students in 2006, to 62 students in 2007, to 132 students in 2008. In 2009 we are offering three summer sessions:
- 1st Session: June 15-July 2 (three weeks)
- 2nd Session: July 6-31 (four weeks)
- 3rd session: August 3-21 (three weeks)
