Summer Programs

Every year we rent classroom and yard space from the SFUSD for our full-day (8:00-6:00) academic summer school. Students receive daily instruction in six subjects – literacy, math, science, art, music, and physical education. For details on our summer programs, please view our 2008 Summer School Flyer.

In 2006 we held our first summer school, which was attended by 18 students over six weeks at Sunset Elementary. In 2007 we served 62 students over eight weeks at Jefferson Elementary. In 2008 we served 132 students over nine weeks at Harvey Milk Elementary and Covenant Presbyterian Church.

For the summer of 2009 we are planning three sessions, all of which will be held near West Portal, partly at our 321 Taraval location and partly at a nearby public school. Please understand that the SFUSD real estate office cannot confirm which school they will let us use until their summer maintenance schedule is finalized in February. We do know, however that the dates and costs of our three summer sessions will be as follows…

The cost for full-days is $8.00/hour and for half-days is $9.33/hour.
